Dr. Eric Schmitt graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.  He earned his Medicine Doctorate degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and then pursued his post-graduate Pediatric Internship and Pediatric Residency training at Washington University of St. Louis and Brown University, respectively.  Dr. Schmitt practiced as a General Pediatrician in Rhode Island until beginning an Allergy / Immunology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  Dr. Schmitt is board certified by both the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics.  He retains active affiliations with numerous national and local professional societies.
